Industrial crude salt
Sodium chloride, commonly known as sea salt and referred to as the "mother of the chemical industry," is used in the production of basic chemical raw materials such as caustic soda, soda ash, and hydrochloric acid. It also finds applications as a de-icing agent, in water treatment, metallurgy (as a flux or precipitant), papermaking (as an additive), rubber (as a latex coagulant), and construction (as a rapid hardening agent). Unlike edible salt (refined salt), industrial crude salt contains impurities and harmful substances, necessitating strict distinctions in its applications. Ingestion can lead to poisoning.
