Polyacrylamide

Polyacrylamide is a linear high molecular polymer. At room temperature, it is a hard glassy solid, and the products include gel liquids, emulsions, white powdery particles, translucent beads, and sheets. It has good thermal stability. It can dissolve in water in any proportion, and the aqueous solution is a uniform transparent liquid. After long-term storage, the viscosity of the solution decreases due to the slow degradation of the polymer, which is particularly noticeable under poor storage and transportation conditions. As a lubricant, suspending agent, clay stabilizer, oil displacement agent, water loss reducer, and thickener, polyacrylamide has been widely used in drilling, acidizing, fracturing, water blocking, cementing, secondary oil recovery, and tertiary oil recovery, making it an extremely important oilfield chemical.
