The storage pollution and deterioration of emulsified rust preventive oil are mainly caused by contact with moisture, oxygen, and impurities in the air, so after opening, the rust preventive oil must be sealed and stored.
Under normal circumstances, manufacturers control the water content in rust preventive oil to below 0.03%. When the water content exceeds 0.1%, the additives in the rust preventive oil will become ineffective, accelerating the oxidation process of the engine oil. In addition, the rust preventive oil is composed of base oil and additives. The base oil is generally more stable, but the stability of the additives, which play an important role in the product, is much weaker. They are prone to chemical reactions when exposed to air and oxygen. Especially in environments exposed to sunlight, the additives deteriorate, significantly reducing the product's antioxidant properties, cleanliness, and so on. Impurities mainly affect the cleanliness of emulsified rust preventive oil. If the oil is mixed with impurities, it will affect the lubrication effect of the oil, cause abnormal wear of the engine, and also affect the sealing performance.
